James Gunn is making huge changes to DC and fans remain optimistic about this fact. It began earlier last year when it was revealed that Henry Cavill will no longer be playing Superman in future films now that the DCEU will be getting a full-blown reboot. However, it seems Jacob Elordi will not portray Superman.
Following Henry Cavill’s departure from Superman, many fans wondered who would end up donning the iconic red cape next. Rumors quickly spread that ‘Euphoria’ heartthrob Jacob Elordi would portray Superman.
However, James Gunn brought an end to those rumors. Gunn addressed the rumors and speculation regarding the casting process on social media, providing an update on the progress made in a direct and clear statement.
The Suicide Squad director took to Twitter and quote tweeted a film account that shared a rumor about Jacob being cast as DC’s defining hero.
“My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet. My thoughts are no one has been cast as Superman yet. Casting, as is almost always the case with me, will happen after the script is finished or close to finished, and it isn’t. We’ll announce a few things in not too long, but the casting of Superman won’t be one of them.
We will have to wait and see who will end up becoming the next Superman. That being said, perhaps Jacob Elordi does have a chance to become Superman if all goes well in the future.
