Miley Cyrus is one of the most successful singers in the industry at the moment and continues to make excellent music. However, Cyrus’ new single ‘Flowers’ is finally out and the lyrics are all about her failed marriage and how she has grown stronger than ever.
Cyrus released the song just hours before her ex-husband’s birthday and detailed her failed marriage to the “Hunger Games” actor. The “Wrecking Ball” singer’s lyrics have a double meaning, describing in detail both the breakdown of their relationship as time passed and the multimillion-dollar Malibu home she shared with Hemsworth that was destructed in a 2018 wildfire.
“We were good / We were gold / Kind of dream that can’t be sold,” Cyrus sings. “We were right / ‘Til we weren’t / Built a home and watched it burn.”
The “Hunger Games” actor is mentioned in the song as the person that Cyrus says she “didn’t want to leave,” but she later realized she is happier and better off by herself.
Cyrus croons,
“I didn’t want to leave you / I didn’t wanna lie / Started to cry but then remembered / I can buy myself flowers / Write my name in the sand / Talk to myself for hours / Say things you don’t understand.”
In the music video, Cyrus can be seen dancing through the streets of Hollywood while sporting a glossy gold outfit and large black sunglasses. “I can take myself dancing / And I can hold my own hand / Yeah, I can love me better than you can,” she continues.
Cyrus states that she has “no regret” and “no remorse” in the lyrics and that she forgets “every word” Hemsworth has said while lying by a pool in black lingerie. The next scene shows her exercising while wearing a lacy bra and underwear, illustrating how she has only grown more powerful since their breakup.
The “Hannah Montana” star dances around a stunning mansion in the final scene of the video while wearing a men’s suit with no shirt underneath, implying that the new house she built alone is ideal for her. However, it remains to be seen if Hemsworth reacts to his ex-wife’s dig. Until then, keep an eye on Thirsty for more updates.
