‘Rick and Morty’ is regarded as one of the greatest shows in the modern generation of television. After all, the show has brought about a cultural change in many ways thanks to his many meta-narratives, pop culture references and a lot more. Justin Roiland is credited for being the co-creator of the show. However, it seems he is now facing domestic violence charges.
According to a report by NBC News, Justin Roiland is currently waiting for trial on charges of felony domestic violence against a former girlfriend. Justin Roiland was charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit.
Unsurprisingly, he has pleaded not guilty. The complainant claimed that the alleged incident of domestic violence took place on January 19, 2020, involving a woman who was in a dating relationship with Justin Roiland at the time.
An order of protection was granted to the woman, which requires Roiland to maintain a distance of 100ft from her at all times and to refrain from any form of harassment, threats, or surveillance.
Roiland was arrested and released on a $50,000 bond in August 2020. He is also set to be part of another hearing on April 27 which he will need to attend. Keep checking back at Thirsty For News as we’ll keep you updated on this ongoing case.
