Disney Hints At Massive Johnny Depp Comeback

Disney and Johnny Depp have been involved in a controversial feud since the defamation trial involving the actor and Amber Heard. Due to Heard’s accusations, Disney reportedly abandoned the actor best known for his portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean series. It appears that something is probably going on between the two because Disney just hinted at a major Johnny Depp comeback.

Disney has just announced a limited edition 4K UHD Steelbook version of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise which will be released in March 2023. The Steelbook features Johnny Depp on the cover, which has many fans wondering why Disney would issue anything commemorating Depp if there was no hope of the two parties reuniting. The two sides have been at odds since before Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s defamation trial.

The Pirates of the Caribbean Producer Jerry Bruckheimer previously stated that he would want to recast Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow. However, he also stated that he did not believe that would be the case at least for the time being. Though there were rumors that Disney offered Depp $300 million to return, these rumors have since been debunked.

Johnny Depp has stated that he felt betrayed by Disney’s decision to part ways because he wanted Pirates of the Caribbean to come to a proper conclusion. Johnny was obviously upset by the loss of his role as Captain Jack Sparrow. During his testimony, Depp also explained why he felt the path back to Pirates of the Caribbean had been destroyed.

As Disney prepares for Pirates of the Caribbean 6, there has been much speculation about who would take up the main role, with Margot Robbie being mentioned as a possible candidate.
