Dana White is known to be a very divisive figure in the MMA world for tons of reasons. White’s reputation was further tarnished when he was involved in a domestic violence incident on New Year’s Eve, in which he slapped his wife. This incident has led to strong condemnation and criticism of his actions. In fact, it seems Mexican laws might prevent the full details of Dana White’s slapping incident from being released for public knowledge.
As previously reported, Dana White and his wife got physical with each other on New Year’s Eve, shocking everyone at the Cabo San Lucas nightclub. People simply could not realize just how serious this incident would turn out and the future ramifications it would entail.
In fact, TBS ended up pulling Dana White’s Power Slap show. In addition to that, California senators want UFC’s parent company Endeavour to remove Dana White as the UFC President.
According to a report by ESPN, the full details of Dana White’s slapping fiasco may never be public knowledge due to Mexican laws regarding domestic violence cases. A spokesperson from the Cabo San Lucas police department stated that such cases are classified as “very private.”
It was added that investigations will only commence once the victim comes forward to file an assault report as revealed by political science professor Céline González.
“The onus to bring evidence is always on the victim. It’s her job to report, and in Mexico, that process isn’t easy.”
Dana White has also not been punished for the slapping incident. Sean O’Malley believes Dana White’s wife deserved to be slapped. We will have to wait and see what will become of Dana White in the end.
