Dana White Claims Francis Ngannou Turned Down History-Making UFC Contract

Francis Ngannou was a highly successful and respected UFC Heavyweight Champion, who was considered one of the all-time greats of the sport. He successfully defended his title against Ciryl Gane in a highly acclaimed fight at UFC 270. However, due to disagreements over compensation with UFC President Dana White, Ngannou ultimately left the organization. Now it seems White claimed Ngannou turned down a history-making contract.

Francis Ngannou later stated that he did not feel respected or valued as a free agent in the UFC and that he had even sacrificed $7 million in order to negotiate a better contract with the organization.

Francis Ngannou also did not know what he was doing wrong to not get a huge payday like Logan Paul. Ngannou continued to lament over the situation until the very end, which saddened fans.

As previously reported, Francis Ngannou officially parted ways with the UFC. Dana White spoke to the media after UFC Fight Night: Strickland vs. Imavov. During the press conference, White claimed that Ngannou turned down a huge contract.

The UFC President claimed that the contract offered to Ngannou would have made him the highest-paid heavyweight fighter in UFC history. The deal was said to be worth more than what was offered to Fedor Emelianenko to fight Brock Lesnar.

White says Jones was willing to face any heavyweight for the title and the UFC offered Ngannou a contract that would make him the highest paid heavyweight in UFC history and he turned the deal down.

White says that the deal offered to Francis was better than the deal offered to Fedor and he would have been the highest paid heavyweight in UFC history. He mentions Brock Lesnar as well.

The CEO of Bellator also previously made it clear he wants to sign Francis Ngannou. It remains to be seen if Francis Ngannou will now make his way to Bellator, as he is finally a free agent.
