LeBron James’ contributions to the world of professional basketball will never be forgotten. For many, King James is the true GOAT of basketball and it isn’t hard to see why. He is no stranger to breaking records as James’ momentum is clearly not stopping anytime soon. In fact, James is closing in on an all-time NBA record after scoring 38,000 points.
Back in 2021, LeBron easily surpassed Kobe Bryant’s record of 395 points in 16 games during the Christmas season. Naturally, LeBron James made sure he carried the momentum forward and did a lot with it.
According to a report by Forbes, LeBron James achieved a historic milestone on Sunday as he became only the second player in NBA history to score 38,000 career points, joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who holds the all-time record of 38,387 points.
With this achievement, James is now within striking distance of surpassing Abdul-Jabbar’s record. James reached the career-defining milestone during the Lakers’ game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
James is now just 364 points away from Abdul-Jabbar’s all-time record. Should James keep playing at the same level, it is very likely he will surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record within just 13 games. We will have to wait and see whether LeBron James will be able to make history again.
