This year, WrestleMania 39 will take place at the SoFi stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1st and 2nd. Today The Weeknd had a big, unexpected, announcement concerning the show of shows.
Apart from the matches, WrestleMania is also known for the many guest celebrities who make an appearance on the show. WrestleMania 39 is also known for its catchy theme songs over the years.
From Limp Bizkit’s ‘My Way’ at WrestleMania X7 to Madonna’s ‘Girl Gone Bad’ and Machine Girl Kelly’s ‘Invincible’ at WrestleMania 28, the soundtrack for the show of shows has always been on point. This year’s event will get a little dose of The Weeknd.
2023 will be no different as it was announced that The Weeknd’s song ‘Less Than Zero’ will be the official theme song for WrestleMania 39. The Weeknd has also made history as the first artist to contribute to WrestleMania in four consecutive years.
The Weeknd contributed the official theme song for WrestleMania 2020 which was ‘Blinding Lights. The next year, his hit song ‘Save Your Tears’ was the official soundtrack for the event, and last year, ‘Sacrifice’ was named the official theme song for the show. It remains to be seen if The Weeknd will perform in Los Angeles in April for the event.
