Gabrielle Union’s recent admission that she felt entitled to cheat on her first husband infuriated fans. Chris Howard who is a former NFL player was her husband for five years. Gabrielle is not backing down in the face of criticism and has some advice for people who are condemning her recent words regarding infidelity.

The Bring It On star told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday that, “if you’re gonna get your panties in a twist about something I’ve been talking about since 2005 — in not one but two New York Times best-selling books — at least listen to the whole thing.” Her comments came after her appearance on the Armchair Expert podcast sparked a barrage of criticism from keyboard warriors. “Just so you know where your anger actually is,” she went on rolling her eyes.

Union suggested that “people really felt anger that a woman would dare be just as dysfunctional as a man” referring to her own description of her “dysfunctional” past union. During an appearance on Dax Shepherd’s podcast on January 2, the actress stated that she was “paying all the bills” when married to former NFL player Howard from 2001 until 2006.

“I was working my ass off, and I felt like that’s what comes [with it],” she admitted, calling infidelity “the spoils of riches.” Union accused Howard of infidelity as well, claiming that neither of them believed their marriage “should get in the way of our dating.” The author of ‘We’re Going to Need More Wine’ went so far as to suggest her cheating phase began in part to “keep up” with her then-husband’s activities.
