John Cena joined WWE in 2000 and made his main roster debut on SmackDown two years later. Over the next decade and a half the 45-year-old became the company’s face and a top superstar winning 16 World Championships and numerous other awards. A former WWE Superstar recently claimed that John Cena felt threatened by a couple of his co-workers.
During a recent Cafe de Rene episode, a fan asked Rene Dupree if Cena was threatened by superstars who resembled him, such as Chris Masters and Alex Riley. The former World Tag Team Champion declared that the Cenation Leader indeed felt so.
Very much so. Very much so. Yeah. The American with the Americans with muscular physiques and tall and good looking, yep. 100%.
When John Cena debuted on the main roster, Triple H was one of the company’s top stars. Several times over the next few years the two shared the ring including a match for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 22. Rene Dupree mentioned in a previous episode of Cafe de Rene that The Game disliked Cena and was jealous of him.
The story goes that Cena was on the chopping block, right? But I didn’t see that at all. I think that might be bulls*it just to make his story like… ‘Coz I saw the interaction when I first got there with Cena and Vince. I don’t think he was going… But I know Hunter didn’t like him. Hunter was jealous of him. That’s what it was.
As previously reported, John Cena recently took to Instagram and posted a photo of Logan Paul with his brother Jake Paul seemingly teasing his WrestleMania 39 plans. Ringside News exclusively reported that Vince McMahon granted John Cena full permission to do as much with WWE as he could even after his retirement.
It is worth noting that he notified Cena of this prior to taking full control of WWE. Since Mahon’s arrival and Stephanie McMahon’s resignation, there has been a lot going on in the WWE. Keep an eye on Thirsty for the most latest updates.
