Anderson Silva is considered one of the greatest fighters in MMA history for good reason. He went up against many top names in the MMA world when he used to be active. After his release from UFC back in 2020, Silva hasn’t been quiet and is not finished in combat sports at all. He eventually fought Jake Paul last year and lost. Now it seems he denied claims that he took a dive during the match.
Last year, after a lot of buildup and anticipation, Jake Paul announced that he would be squaring off against ‘The Spider’ on October 29th in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Gila River Arena.
Jake Paul finally got his wish to face Silva and it ended up giving a result no one expected. This is because Jake Paul defeated the MMA veteran, shocking the world for good reason.
Many people believed it was all staged and that Anderson Silva took a dive. While speaking to TMZ Sports, Anderson Silva made it clear that Jake Paul is the real deal and deserves respect for his name.
“The people don’t give credit to Jake. Jake is a very young guy, he’s very determined and training hard every day. I didn’t have the strategy correct and I lost the fight and that’s amazing because I continue to learn, continue to accept the new technique with my coach, and that’s great.”
The Spider also made it clear that he did not take a dive against Jake Paul whatsoever and that The Problem Child beat him fair and square inside the squared circle.
Listen, the people don’t understand the fight game. Sometimes people think ”Oooh, Anderson doing something behind the scenes with Jakes.’ But it’s not, Jake won the fight.
Anderson Silva is currently preparing for a fight in Dubai. However, Silva made it clear that he is more than open to a rematch with Jake Paul somewhere down the line, so we’ll have to see if that will happen one day.
