Francis Ngannou was regarded as one of the best heavyweights in the UFC for a very long time. In March 2021, Ngannou finally beat Stipe Miocic to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion cementing his legacy as a UFC GOAT. While Ngannou may not be in the UFC anymore, it seems he might get to face Tyson Fury in the future.
Francis Ngannou later stated that he did not get the respect and value he felt he deserved as a free agent in the UFC. In fact, Ngannou had even rejected a lucrative offer in order to negotiate a better contract with the company. He felt that his contribution and achievements were not being acknowledged by the UFC and that led to his decision to part ways.
As previously reported, Francis Ngannou officially parted ways with the UFC. Right after that, Dana White claimed that Ngannou turned down a contract that would have made history in the UFC.
Last year, Francis Ngannou came face to face with Tyson Fury after the latter’s match against Dillian Whyte. The two hinted at a mega-fight between the two in the future, but nothing more was said on the matter.
In a recent tweet by MMA journalist Michael Benson, it was reported that Tyson Fury is willing to sign for a fight against Francis Ngannou in a boxing match in case his fight against Oleksandr Usyk doesn’t happen. MMA and boxing journalist Chisanga Malata also backed up this report.
