Following Will Smith’s Oscars mishap, there were rumors that the fourth installment of the Bad Boys franchise would be halted. However, there’s good news for its fans as Will Smith and Martin Lawrence have recently confirmed that it’s still under production.
Smith and Lawrence are all set to work together for the fourth installment in the Bad Boys movie franchise. The duo took to their social media to announce the news. Both Smith and Lawrence wrote in the caption of their post, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME!”
In the video, Smith is heard saying, “I’ve got an announcement. Y’all gotta stop scrolling.” as he drives to Lawrence’s house with the camera in tow. Smith then plays “Shake Ya Tailfeather” from the 2003 “Bad Boys II” soundtrack as a subtle hint. As he arrives at Lawrence’s door, the duo announces that the fourth movie is formally in production.
The movie is currently in the early stages of pre-production, and Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will be in the director’s chair. And the script of the movie will be written by Chris Bremner.
The third movie in the franchise, Bad Boys for Life, debuted in cinemas in January 2020 and earned $426.5 million worldwide during its run. Prior to that, Bad Boys II made its debut in 2003 and grossed $273.3 million during its run in movie theatres all over the world.
