Beyoncé is recognized as a leading figure in the pop music industry. Her numerous top-charting songs and enthralling musical performances have earned her a devoted worldwide fanbase, cementing her legacy in music history. The Etsy designer behind Beyoncé’s fabulous disco-style cowboy hat was forced to shut down Etsy shop after crazy demand following the singer announcing her tour dates.
According to TMZ, Abby Misbin AKA “Trending by Abby” on Etsy, received a request from a stylist for Beyoncé last June. The stylist sought a custom-made mirrored cowboy hat and needed it delivered within 5 days. Abby was ecstatic to take on the challenge and handcrafted the hat for Beyoncé, selling it for $215.
Two months after the sale, Abby’s creation made a memorable appearance in a Beyoncé video teaser, increasing its visibility. However, Abby was taken aback when she saw Beyoncé donning the hat, studded with 10,000 to 15,000 mirror tiles, once again in the recent announcement of her “Renaissance” tour dates. This moment was even more impactful than the initial promotion.
According to Abby, the recent tour announcement was a game changer. She has been overwhelmed with a surge of orders for the same hat, which is a drastic increase from her average of 5-6 orders per week. In just one day, Abby received 60 orders from fans trying to emulate Beyoncé’s style. The fervent demand from Beyoncé’s fanbase, also known as the BeyHive, showcases their relentless desire to emulate her fashion choices.
Fans went crazy after she released the dates for her highly anticipated tour. Abby stated that working on fulfilling orders with her sister’s help before re-opening her Etsy shop. Clearly, she is looking forward to what’s next and that’s all that matters.
