Kelly Clarkson’s alleged stalker is facing multiple criminal charges following the singer’s claims that the woman repeatedly showed up at her home, despite having a restraining order in place. In fact, the stalker could be facing jail time if convicted of her charges.
According to TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney’s Office stated that Huguette Nicole Young was charged in the previous month with one count of stalking, four counts of violating a protective order, and one count of trespassing.
Young pleaded not guilty and a bail of $26,000 was set. The court also ordered Young to stay away from Kelly, however, it has not been effective in preventing her from approaching the singer in the past.
Kelly had previously obtained a restraining order against Young, but the woman has repeatedly been accused of violating its terms. Young was arrested outside Kelly’s San Fernando Valley home on January 25th after security personnel called 911 upon observing her on the singer’s property through surveillance cameras. The police promptly arrived at the scene and made the arrest.
It’s unusual that Clarkson claimed Young repeatedly appeared at her property at exactly 8:59 PM with no explanation for the significance of the time. Kelly is worried, as sources close to her have reported that she will not allow her children to leave the gates at night.
Young remains in custody and if found guilty, she faces the possibility of more than a year in jail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 26th. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing story.
