White Men Can’t Jump is a 1992 sports comedy film written and directed by Ron Shelton. The classic will soon be added to the long list of films with modern remakes. With that being said, Hulu has just released the first trailer for the film, showing off the film acting debut of rapper Jack Harlow.
Harlow and Sinqua Walls are both featured in the movie’s first trailer, which was made available on Hulu on Sunday. The reboot of the basketball comedy is all set to hit the theatres on May 19.
Director of the White Men Can’t Jump reboot, Calmatic, who is also an award-winning music video director, has made it clear what he hopes to do with this new installment of the story.
“We locked the edit maybe a couple days ago. I feel like we gotta finish the sound mixing, throw some songs in there, get it color correct, and take it through the final stages of post. And then, I’m sure you guys will see something really soon. It’s definitely coming out this year.”
In the reboot’s trailer, the dynamic between the two leads is similar to that in the original film, with Harlow’s character portraying himself as an unskilled basketball player before ultimately proving to be the real deal. Even some of the teaser’s scenes resemble the colorful 1990s scenes from the OG movie.
