Kanye West Finally Served Documents By Former Law Firm Trying To Drop Him As A Client

Kanye West garnered a lot of attention and backlash last year, especially for his remarks that were racially insensitive and anti-Semitic. He is involved in numerous lawsuits and his New York City law firm had been trying to drop him as a client. However, according to reports, the law firm has finally served the rapper with papers to dump him after being unable to locate him for months.

Greenberg Traurig, LLP had requested the court to drop Ye as a client on November 30 of last year. However, the law firm’s latest court documents, as reported by AllHipHop, indicate that the firm successfully severed its ties with West as of Wednesday.

Attorney Nina D. Boyajian claimed in the latest filing that, with some assistance from Ye’s new lawyer, her office was able to arrange for personal service of the documents. “On January 18, 2023, an attorney based in California contacted my firm advising that he would be representing ‘Ye on some of his legal matters,’” she wrote in the documents.

“During the course of several emails and a phone call with this attorney, I requested that he coordinate personal service of the Order on Ye.

On February 1, 2023, the attorney referenced above emailed me the executed Certificate of Service attached hereto as Exhibit A. I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct.”

Kanye West was supposed to receive paperwork terminating their connection last month, but Greenberg Traurig stated they couldn’t find him. The company even went so far as to ask the courts to accept a public announcement in local Los Angeles newspapers as adequate notice to the artist.

As we previously reported, Greenberg Traurig’s attorneys sought to take such extraordinary measures to formally sever ties with West, but Judge Analisa Torres’ ruling denied their request for the time being.
