Ronda Rousey made her return to WWE during the Royal Rumble last year and eventually went on to become a 2-time Smackdown Women’s Champion. It didn’t take long before fans decided to turn on her yet again, as they hated how WWE booked her character. That being said, it seems WWE changed plans for her because she wanted them to.
As seen on a previous episode of Friday Night Smackdown, The Baddest Woman On The Planet ended up dropping the Smackdown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair, which turned out to be quite a shocking result.
In fact, Ronda Rousey previously made it clear that she is no longer interested in pursuing Charlotte Flair and wants to dominate the tag team division instead.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Ronda Rousey’s plans after losing the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Meltzer noted that WWE changed Rousey’s plans because she wanted them to.
They made the decision to go with Charlotte, which was basically a last-minute thing, let’s put her over. Ronda then decided she wanted to be a tag team champion with Shayna Baszler because she’s always wanted to do that run, so she will do that run.
WWE already has interesting plans for Ronda Rousey following her title loss. We’ll have to wait and see whether Rousey will end up becoming a Women’s Tag Team champion in the future.
