WWE Compared To Plot Of ‘Succession’

Vince McMahon’s return to WWE as Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, and the resulting resignation of co-CEO Stephanie McMahon, caused a significant change in the wrestling industry. Initially, fans were concerned that this transition would have a negative impact on the company. Many people were also shocked by Stephanie McMahon’s WWE exit and it seems the whole saga was compared to the plot of ‘Succession.’

In fact, quite a few fans had started to believe that Stephanie McMahon’s exit may have something to do with the potential sale of the company to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. That being said, there is no truth to this belief.

That was just the beginning as Vince Mcmahon became the Executive Chairman of WWE and now plans on selling the company to the highest bidder. WWE is currently in the process of getting sold as well.

While speaking to Pro Wrestling Illustrated, Seth Rollins was asked about Stephanie McMahon’s resignation and Vince McMahon’s usurping of WWE once again. Rollins compared the whole ordeal to ‘Sucession,’ which is a very political show in general.

“Well, have you ever seen the show ‘Succession’?… If you need an explanation, there you go. You have three seasons of it I think on HBO so, that’s, again, all above my head. I’m a pro wrestler, I show up, I put in the work in the ring, try to do my best to entertain the people who buy the tickets and watch us on TV and that’s all I can focus on. If I start worrying about the other stuff, I’m gonna lose my cool so, I gotta keep my cool, my friend.”

WWE could also be sold within the next three months, but there is no guarantee just yet. We will have to wait and see what will become of WWE in the end. We’ll keep you updated on this ongoing story.
