Takeoff tragically passed away at the age of 28 outside a bowling alley in Houston. The rapper and Offset formed Migos, along with Quavo, in 2008. However, according to reports, Quavo and Offset got into a violent altercation backstage at the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday night over the tribute to the deceased rapper.
According to TMZ, the two artists got into a fight over the tribute dedicated to Takeoff. Sources claim that the duo got into a physical altercation and had to be separated just before Quavo took the stage to perform his song “Without You” in honor of Takeoff during the “In Memoriam” segment of the show.
The Grammys reportedly asked Offset to participate in the tribute, but Quavo refused to let him. Quavo even attempted to prevent Offset from joining him on stage which led to the fisticuffs.
Quavo and Takeoff had been very close before the time of Takeoff’s murder, but Offset had been cut off from the group, which is also his family. Given that Takeoff was Quavo’s nephew and Offset is Quavo’s cousin, the three members are related to one another.
All three of them had spent their childhood together outside of Atlanta. The song “Without You” by Quavo was written especially for Takeoff. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates regarding the rap industry.
