Sean O’Malley is currently one of the rising stars in the UFC and has certainly worked hard to establish himself there. ‘Suga’ has a solid track record and earned the respect of many. In fact, his star is so bright that O’Malley ended up signing an 8-fight contract extension with the UFC.
The talented bantamweight fighter, who got his first big break on Dana White’s Contender Series, has signed a new 8-bout agreement with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
UFC president Dana White announced the news on Saturday. While speaking on his podcast, Sean O’Malley confirmed the news, adding that he was now acting as his own manager.
In addition to that, the rainbow-headed warrior revealed that he is quite happy with the deal he signed and the way his career is panning out.
“I got a very gracious contract that I’m proud of,” O’Malley said. “I got a number that I’m very happy with. I truly don’t think any manager that I had could have went in there and got me what I got. That also helps with the relationship built with the UFC. I feel like I have earned this contract. I feel like I have earned the amount that I’m getting paid.”
“Suga,” fresh off a hotly contested split decision victory over ex-champion Petr Yan at UFC 280 in October, was awarded the Fight of the Night accolade, despite the controversy surrounding it. We will have to wait and see what’s next in store for O’Malley.
