Off the court, he has used his platform to make a positive impact, championing causes such as education and social justice. Whether on the court or in the public eye, Lebron James continues to inspire and captivate audiences around the world.
All this success makes Lebron James one of the most recognizable stars in the world. Hence, it’s not possible for someone as popular as him to enjoy simple things in life that most people take for granted.
In a candid interview with the New York Times, basketball royalty Lebron James peeled back the curtain on his life as one of the most recognizable figures in the world of sports. With a voice tinged with a hint of wistfulness, King James spoke of his yearning to reclaim the normalcy that has eluded him, of the simple pleasures he can no longer enjoy because of his fame.
“I don’t want to say it ever becomes too much, but there are times when I wish I could do normal things,” he said. “I wish I could just walk outside. I wish I could just, like, walk into a movie theater and sit down and go to the concession stand and get popcorn.
I wish I could just go to an amusement park just like regular people,” he continued. “I wish I could go to Target sometimes and walk into Starbucks and have my name on the cup just like regular people.”
However, the basketball icon stated that he isn’t complaining but it can be challenging at times.
“I’m not sitting here complaining about it, of course not,” he added. “But it can be challenging at times.”
As much as wishes for it, his fame and popularity will never let him do those little things that regular people get to do. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
