Drake and Rihanna, two of the biggest names in the music industry, have been creating waves and capturing hearts with their electrifying performances and chart-topping hits. These two artists have created a legacy for themselves as two of the most iconic stars of this generation. Hence, a legacy as big as theirs deserves to be honored the right way.
According to Hot New Hip Hop, Madame Tussauds, the iconic wax museum, unveiled two new figures celebrating both Drake and Rihanna. Drake’s wax figure was unveiled at their London branch as part of the Impossible Festival music zone. The rapper’s figure captures his look from the 2021 Wireless Festival in London where he donned a matching camouflage shirt and pants under a green puffer jacket with white Air Force 1’s. His wax figure also features replica Cartier and Van Cleef jewelry.
This is the second wax figure for Drake at Madame Tussauds. The museum also has a wax figure of the rapper at its Las Vegas location.
Madame Tussauds London’s general manager Tim Waters stated that Drake’s love for London has been well documented and hence, they wanted to give him a warm welcome since it is reported that he’s soon to call London home.
“Drake has shown his love for London on numerous occasions with his surprise appearance at Wireless Festival being just one example of this. With reports that he’s soon to call London home, we wanted to make sure we were able to give him a warm welcome to our streets and show that the love is reciprocated the only way we know how by immortalizing him in our famous attraction.”
Rihanna, on the other hand, was honored with her third wax figurine at Madame Tussauds New York on Wednesday. Her figurine shows off her iconic look from the 2018 Met Gala which was inspired by the theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion And The Catholic Imagination.”
The outfit features a white mini dress and matching robe with a papal bishop’s hat and a bejeweled crucifix. The figure can be found in the Glow Gala Room.
The Madame Tussauds New York general manager Joerg Hanel said that Rihanna is going to make history with her upcoming performance in the Super Bowl making it the perfect time to unveil her new figure.
“Rihanna is sure to make history with her upcoming live show this Sunday so the timing is perfect for us to reveal her new figure exclusively at Madame Tussauds New York where fans can admire and pose with the icon.”
The unveiling of Rihanna’s wax figure comes days before her Super Bowl halftime show performance which will be covered by Thirsty for News. So, stay tuned for that.
