Floyd Mayweather has become synonymous with his impressive wealth and financial standing, but he continues to captivate audiences with his unpredictability. He is constantly creating buzz, whether it be through his outlandish actions or larger-than-life personality, and fans have come to expect the unexpected from him. Everyone wants to fight him, after his retirement. Now it seems even ex-UFC Champion Jose Aldo wants a piece of Mayweather.

Former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo won his professional boxing debut on Friday in decisive fashion. While others would go for lesser opponents to build up confidence, Aldo wants to go for the biggest name in the sport – Mayweather.

While speaking with MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz after the event, Jose Aldo claimed that a deal had been agreed to by both parties and are just waiting for confirmation from promoters.

“His side has already agreed, my side too,” Aldo said. “We’re now waiting for [the promoters] to get the deal done.

It might be exhibition on [Mayweather’s] side, but not for me,” Aldo said. “It’s punch to the face like always. He knows that.”

Jose Aldo is set to face off against his former mixed martial arts rival Jeremy Stephens in the ring on April 1st, at Gamebred Boxing 4. The two first faced each other in July 2018 at featherweight, where Aldo emerged victorious with a first-round TKO against the hard-hitting Stephens. This highly anticipated rematch promises to be an intense showdown between two skilled fighters. We will have to wait and see if Aldo and Mayweather will end up duking it out in the end.
