Eminem’s contributions to the world of hip-hop will never be forgotten, as his influence is etched deep in the mind of fans and peers alike. Artists such as Skylar Grey still get starstruck working with him even now. He was respected by many, including his stunt double. Unfortunately, it seems Eminem’s stunt double, Ryan Shepard, passed away after a car ran him over. He was only 40 years old.
While speaking to TMZ, Ryan Shepard’s brother, Kyle, revealed that he lost his life in Washington at the end of January after getting run over by an oncoming pickup truck.
Emergency responders rushed him to a hospital, but he had passed away when he reached the hospital. In addition to Being Eminem’s stunt double, he was also his photo double and stand-in, appearing at the MTV Movie Awards as Eminem’s superhero character, Rap Boy.
He worked with Eminem again in 2002 during his 2002 Anger Management Tour, and on his Japan and Europe tour the next year. He also appeared in D12’s “Purple Hills” music video as Eminem’s double.
Kyle stated that Ryan was incredibly intelligent, as he went on to work at Disney as a ride mechanical engineer, and eventually moving to Elon Musk’s SpaceX as a test automation engineer.
Ryan is survived by his 2 children, a 7-year-old and an 11-year-old. We would like to offer our deepest condolences to Ryan’s family and friends during this sad time.
