The tragic death of XXXTentacion shook the music industry and his legion of fans to the core. At just 20 years old, the Florida rapper had already made a massive impact with his emotionally raw and confessional lyrics. However, on June 18, 2018, his life was cut short when he was shot and killed outside a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
The murder sent shockwaves through the music world and sparked an outpouring of grief and remembrance from fans and fellow artists alike. Since then, this murder trial has been underway.
Drake was issued the subpoena to be grilled by defense attorney Mauricio Padilla. However, it looks like Drake may avoid questioning.
Defense attorney Mauricio Padilla who represents suspect Dedrick Williams previously argued that Drake needed to be questioned due to his past issues with XXXTentacion. However, the legal team representing Drake has informed the court that the rapper has no relevant information related to the case.
According to TMZ, It looks like judge Michael A. Usan agreed with Drake’s lawyer as he signed off on Drake’s motion to avoid deposition.
Although Drake has avoided questioning for the time being, Padill could still convince the judge that there’s some other cause for the rapper to be deposed and issue a new subpoena. Until then, stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we keep you updated on this story.
