Ronda Rousey was already a huge name when she signed with WWE in 2017. The Baddest Woman on the Planet made her in–ring debut at WrestleMania 34 in a mixed tag team match and the rest was history. Now, she appears to be making effort to land a huge movie role.
According to Giant Freakin Robot, Ronda Rousey is in talks with Marvel to play Thundra in the upcoming “Captain America: New World Order.” For those wondering, Thundra is a character owned by Marvel Comics. The superhuman made her Marvel Comics debut way back in 1972.
Ronda Rousey made her Hollywood debut with “The Expendables 3” in 2014. She also appeared in the blockbuster “Furious 7” movie in 2015. In addition, Ronda has several television roles under her belt. On WWE television, she is a former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion, as well as the winner of the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.
Ronda Rousey made her WWE return from absence on the February 10, 2023, edition of Friday Night SmackDown. The former SmackDown Women’s Champion reunited with longtime friend Shayna Baszler to take out Natalya after a match on the blue brand last week.
Ronda Rousey has also made it clear that she is no longer interested in pursuing Charlotte Flair or the SmackDown Women’s Championship and wants to dominate the tag team division instead.
It remains to be seen if Ronda Rousey will land the role of Thundra and establish her dominance in the MCU the way she’s done in both UFC and WWE. Stay tuned to Thirsty for more.
