John Cena will always be regarded as one of the all-time best WWE superstars in the history of the company. Before Roman Reigns assumed the role of the company’s face, the previous multiple-time world champion served in that capacity. Despite being a part-timer for the organization, Cena remains one of WWE’s top draws. With that being said, it looks like Cena is set to appear on the road to WrestleMania 39.
John Cena has been rumored to participate in a match at WrestleMania 39 for a long time now. According to Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter, the 16-time World Champion is set to appear on the March 6th, edition of RAW, taking place in his hometown of Boston Massachusetts.
“John Cena will appear at WWE Raw in Boston in a few weeks.”
According to various speculations, John Cena is most likely to battle Austin Theory at the Show of Shows. With the blue-chip prospect retaining his title inside the Elimination Chamber this past weekend, the match is almost set in stone.
For a while now, Austin Theory has been taunting John Cena. Fans have also frequently compared their physiques, and Theory has also used Cena’s famous “The Champ Is Here” remarks to launch several commercials and recently also mentioned him during the Elimination Chamber press conference.
John Cena, on the hand, was involved in a backstage segment with Austin Theory last year on RAW when he returned to celebrate his 20th anniversary in WWE. Furthermore, Cena was last seen on the final SmackDown of 2022, winning a tag team bout with Kevin Owens against Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.
John Cena’s return announcement could see him being involved in the WrestleMania festivities. Therefore, it can be said that his appearance on the aforementioned episode on RAW could start his feud with Austin Theory, which would culminate in a bout between them for the WWE United States Championship at WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood.
