John Cena is one of the biggest names to ever come out of WWE, and his Hollywood commitments keep him out of the ring. With WrestleMania 39 coming up on April 1st and 2nd, it appears that Big Match John is set for a return.
Austin Theory is the current WWE United States Champion, and he has been mocking John Cena for some time now. Not only that, but Theory has also been compared to Cena in many ways throughout his short career so far.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer briefly discussed John Cena’s upcoming WrestleMania match. He made it clear that the plans were there for Cena to wrestle Austin Theory since this Summer.
It’s been the WrestleMania match for a year, or since July, that’s when it’s been earmarked.
John Cena is currently in Australia filming a new movie with Zac Efron. We will have to see how often he can participate in a feud on the road to WrestleMania, but he was recently announced for a one-off WWE return in March, one that could see him accept a match on the grandest stage of them all.
Austin Theory is one of WWE’s fastest-rising stars, and his young ages puts him as a perfect contender to hold the company’s future in his hands. Only time will tell how he fares against a 16x World Champion like John Cena at WrestleMania 39.
