Pink Reveals Madonna ‘Doesn’t Like’ Her After Awkward ‘Fangirl’ Encounter

Madonna is still regarded as one of the most recognizable figures in the music industry and despite being over 60 she can crank up the heat whenever she wishes. Madonna is known for her constant reinvention and versatility in music production and visual presentation. Pink on the other hand is known as the Pop Royalty thanks to her distinct raspy voice and acrobatic stage presence. Pink recently claimed that Madonna doesn’t like her after an awkward encounter on ‘Live with Regis and Kelly’ nearly 20 years ago. 

“Some people just don’t like me,” Pink admitted on ‘The Howard Stern Show‘ on SiriusXM on Wednesday. The ‘So What’ singer described herself as “a polarizing individual.”

Pink agreed with Howard Stern that Madonna is a “polarizing individual,” but added that she grew up as the Queen of Pop’s biggest fan. “F–k, I loved her,” Pink claimed. Pink revealed that Madonna’s feud with her began behind the scenes during their November 2003 appearance on the morning talk show.

“She tried to kind of play me on ‘Regis and Kelly,’ and I’m not the one, so [it] didn’t work out,” she said coyly before Stern prodded her to elaborate. “She tried to kind of play me on ‘Regis and Kelly,’ and I’m not the one, so [it] didn’t work out,” she said coyly before Stern prompted her to further explain.

“It’s just such a silly story. I f–king love Madonna, and I love her no matter what. I still love her no matter what. She was such an inspiration to me, but it sort of got twisted around that I was, like, fangirling and was dying to meet Madonna when in actuality she invited me into her dressing room,” Pink recalled. “And so I just said a joke when Regis [Philbin] brought me out and said, ‘I heard you were just falling over yourself backstage. How does it feel?’ I’m like, ‘I thought she wanted to meet me.’”

However, the ‘Trustfall’ singer stated that she believes Madge was offended by the jest. “It didn’t work out. It didn’t work out for us,” she recounted, with Stern interjecting, “Madonna took the joke personally.” 

The radio host then joked that Madonna was secretly in his studio fighting Pink which caused his guest to burst into laughter. Pink recently revealed that Madonna had asked her to be a part of her and Britney Spears’ infamous kiss at the MTV Video Music Awards in August 2003 three months before they met on Live.
