Nicki Minaj made multiple headlines last year for her low-key social media feuds with Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, and other up-and-coming female rappers. With that being said, Latto recently opened up about her conflict with Nicki Minaj, adding that it was ‘disappointing.’
Billboard’s most recent cover story, which features Latto, was published on Friday. During the interview, the Atlanta rapper addressed her infamous Twitter fight with Nicki Minaj that broke out in October of last year.
“It’s difficult navigating through situations like that because there’s a disconnect. I will look at myself as a fan of someone and they will view [me] in a whole different light. It’s disappointing. You just got to take it to the chin and keep pushing.”
The formerly friendly rappers got into an argument four months ago when Nicki Minaj brought up Latto’s smash hit “Big Energy” in a tirade following the removal of Nicki’s smash hit “Super Freaky Girl” from the rap category by The Recording Academy for Grammy nominations. “I have no prob being moved out the RAP category as long as we r ALL being treated FAIRLY,” Minaj tweeted.
“If [‘Super Freaky Girl’] has 2B moved out RAP then so does Big Energy! ANY1 who says diff is simply a Nicki hater or a troll.”
Nicki Minaj has been relatively inactive following her snub by The Recording Academy. However, she has recently made an appearance in Trinidad & Tobago for Carnival. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
