Drake is undoubtedly one of the most popular rappers on the planet and he is also regarded as one of the most influential musicians of his time having won numerous awards including four Grammys. He also went to great lengths to attend a friend’s court date.
Drake recently shared his thoughts on his eventual retirement from the music industry, discussing his plans for a graceful exit from the spotlight. Drake, also known as the 6 God, recently had a picturesque interview with Lil Yachty on the beach.
During the interview, Drake shared a story about how he once disguised himself in prosthetics to support a friend who was going through a legal situation and had to appear in court. The rapper revealed the “Oklahoma Story” during an appearance on LeBron James’ HBO show “The Shop: Uninterrupted.”
Drake said that he wore prosthetics to look like an older man and even hired bodyguards to accompany him to the courthouse. He explained that he did it to support his friend who was “going through a tough time” and to show him that he wasn’t alone. The process of applying the prosthetics took three hours, but Drake said it was worth it to be there for his friend.
Despite his efforts to disguise himself, people in the courtroom still recognized Drake. He admitted that even the judge recognized him, but he managed to keep his cool and not disrupt the proceedings. Drake said that the experience taught him a lot about how important it is to support friends in need, even if it means going to great lengths to do so.
“Everyone is like, ‘Is that Drake as an 80-year-old?'” he laughed as he revisited the story in the video below. Yo, I had one of the best Hollywood makeup artists in the world and they were still like, ‘That’s definitely Drake in there,” he added. “It did not work.”
Drake also hinted at having a graceful retirement in the future. We will have to wait and see what is next in store for Drizzy, as fans are excited for whatever he drops next.
