The last several years have seen a decline in John Cena’s WWE appearances as he has primarily concentrated on his Hollywood endeavors, appearing in blockbuster movies and television series like “Fast & The Furious” and “Peacemaker.” He has found time to continue wrestling every year on the WWE main roster since 2002 despite his hectic Hollywood schedule.
Ric Flair, a two-time member of the WWE Hall of Famer, discussed John Cena’s choice to assist some of the current stars in the organization as his WWE career appeared to be coming to an end and he was no longer in the lead. He spoke about this on the recent episode of his “To Be The Man” podcast.
“If there is a position that will help the company and help an individual that he likes, he’s in. Theory wrestling John Cena automatically makes Theory a big player. Whether you think he is or not, he’s getting to wrestle John Cena. It’s not about John Cena anymore. It’s about ‘What can I do to make the company better and be a company guy?”
John Cena was one of the biggest WWE superstars of all time during his heyday. He reigned over the company as a 16-time World champion and was the flagship star of Vince McMahon’s global juggernaut.
According to various speculations, John Cena might face Austin Theory, the current US Champion, at WrestleMania 39. Theory has been compared a lot to Cena throughout his time on the WWE main roster.
Furthermore, Austin Theory has himself acknowledged that John Cena was his favorite wrestler when he was younger. The two have not yet been scheduled for a match, but all signs are pointing in that direction.
John Cena has been announced for the March 6, 2023, episode of WWE RAW. We will wait and see if that episode leads to the match between Cena and Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39 being made official.
