Roman Reigns has been unstoppable since his return back in 2020, ascending to the position of the Undisputed Universal Champion. The Head Of The Table has demolished every single foe who has stood before him over the course of almost three years. That being said, he was recently ripped for being one-dimensional in WWE.
Reigns’ portrayal as a villain in the modern era of wrestling has included an engrossing storyline involving Sami Zayn’s induction into The Bloodline family and subsequent accusations of disloyalty.
This culminated in a dramatic test of Zayn’s allegiance at the Royal Rumble, where Reigns commanded him to assault Kevin Owens with a chair. When Zayn refused and struck Reigns instead, The Bloodline brutally attacked him, with Reigns delivering the final blows and leaving him incapacitated in the center of the ring.
At Elimination Chamber, Reigns dealt a crushing blow to the hopes of fans rooting for Zayn to triumph. Using a chair and some assistance from Jimmy Uso, Reigns successfully defended his title, crushing Zayn’s dreams of a fairytale ending and leaving his supporters heartbroken.
Although Reigns has enjoyed significant success in his wrestling career, former WWE Head Writer Vince Russo has been critical of his performance, stating that he finds Reigns to be “one-dimensional”. Russo has suggested that MJF is more deserving of the title of top heel in professional wrestling, as he spoke on WrestleBinge.
“And Roman, bro, I’m a huge fan of Roman Reigns, but he really is one-dimensional. There’s not too much range there. MJF has range.”
Roman Reigns will be defending his Undisputed Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39. We will have to wait and see whether Roman Reigns will be able to retain his titles.
