Katy Perry is certainly one of the most recognized musicians in the whole industry. She also has a terrific fashion sense. On top of that, Katy Perry loves spending time with her husband, Orlando Bloom. She also had an emotional outburst during the most recent ‘American Idol’ audition for a good reason.
Katy Perry had a visceral reaction to a distressing situation on a recent episode of American Idol. The 38-year-old singer, who also serves as a judge on the show, was brought to tears as contestant Trey Louis performed during Sunday night’s broadcast (February 27). Overcome with emotion and anger, Perry shouted as she struggled to contain her feelings.
During his audition on American Idol, 21-year-old Trey Louis, a mattress salesman, shared that he was there to shed a positive light on his hometown of Santa Fe, Texas, which had experienced a horrific school shooting in May 2018. Eight of his friends and two of his teachers were among the victims.
Upon learning of his tragic experience, Katy Perry was overcome with emotion and broke down in tears. She expressed her anger and frustration, shouting that the country had failed them and that it was not okay. Perry urged Trey to sing because he loved music, not because he had to endure such a terrible ordeal.
She went on to passionately advocate for change and expressed her fear, hoping that Trey’s experience would serve as a reminder to everyone that change is necessary. Perry’s outburst was filled with expletives as she continued to express her emotions.
Our country has f-cking failed us,” she yelled.
“This is not okay! You should be singing here because you love music!” she angrily yelled.
“Not because you had to go through that,” she continued, going into an expletive-filled rant.
“You didn’t have to lose eight friends! I hope that you remind people that we have to change, because you know what? I’m scared too
This was truly a powerful moment for fans and Katy Perry alike and goes to show just how much she truly cares about other people in general now.
