50 Cent burst onto the scene in the early 2000s with his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin'” and quickly became one of the most influential figures in hip hop. His music, marked by gritty lyrics and a signature flow, has sold millions of records worldwide and earned him numerous awards and accolades. But beyond his success in music, 50 Cent has proven to be a savvy businessman, with ventures ranging from his G-Unit clothing line to his partnership with Vitamin Water.
His venture into champagne has also proven to be quite successful. The rapper’s brand of Champagne, Le Chemin du Roi had an impressive showing at the 2023 Rodeo Uncorked international wine competition in Houston.
According to Chron, the champagne bottle took home the award for Grand Champion Best of Show and also sold for $325k at an auction. The winning bid was placed by real estate firm J. Alan Kent Development.
50 Cent spent some of his cash at the prestigious wine auction as he purchased a $165k bottle of Bernhardt Winery’s Antiquity Chardonnay Reserve which was produced in Danube Plain in 2020. This bottle of Chardonnay was crowned the 2023 Reserve Grand Champion at this year’s Rodeo Uncorked.
The Queens rapper took to Instagram to flex about his brand’s record-breaking bid in a post on Monday.
“You think you know money until you make it to the Rodeo in Houston. I bought the lot 2 Reserve champion [for] $165,000. You need a real bag to play over here.”
This isn’t the first time that Fif’s brand of champagne had won an award at the Rodeo Uncorked event. Le Chemin du Roi was named Reserve Grand Champion at the same event back in 2021. Stay tuned to Thirsty For News as we bring you similar stories.
