Austin Butler gained fame after his incredible performance as Elvis Presley in the 2022 movie, “Elvis.” However, Butler recently remembered the time when he spent a week in the hospital and was confined to a bed after he finished filming.
Butler told People on the 2023 SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday, that “I had a week of downtime, where I actually ended up in the hospital.” Butler called his time spent working on the film “the greatest ride of my life,” despite experiencing health hardships.
“I didn’t get sick the entire time I filmed [‘Elvis’] but the day I finished, I ended up in the emergency room.
So, I spent a week in bed and then I went to this other job.”
The “Carrie Diaries” star stated in May of last year that his body began to “shut down” after he finished filming the Baz Luhrmann-directed biopic. “The next day, I woke up at four in the morning with excruciating pain and I was rushed to hospital,” Butler told GQ at the time.
Butler was ultimately found to have a virus that resembles appendicitis, necessitating a week of bed rest for him to recover. However, Butler put everything he had into portraying Elvis Presley and is now receiving acknowledgment for his tireless endeavor. Keep an eye on Thirsty For News to get the latest updates.
