Kodak Black, the controversial rapper and songwriter, has gained notoriety for his unapologetic lyrics and legal troubles. Despite his success, Kodak Black has faced numerous legal issues, including charges for drug possession, weapons possession, and sexual assault. The controversial rapper recently made headlines again for an ongoing case against him.
Kodak Black found himself in a legal quagmire after a warrant was issued for his arrest in light of a recent drug test. According to XXL Mag, the test results indicated that the hip-hop artist had tested positive for the potent synthetic opioid, Fentanyl.
In a dramatic courtroom scene, Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, made a stunning argument that there was a possibility that the lab worker who handled Kodak’s urine sample could have mistakenly mixed it up with another person’s sample during his work.
To the surprise of many, the lab worker himself took to the stand and testified, acknowledging the veracity of Cohen’s claim.
Kodak Black has been spared from imprisonment after violating his bail conditions. Instead, the judge has ordered the controversial rapper to enter a drug rehabilitation facility for a period of 30 days.
Kodak won’t have to check himself into the facility until next Tuesday, thanks to a successful plea from his legal team. This is due to his previously scheduled performance at the upcoming 2023 Rolling Loud California Festival this weekend. The rapper plans to donate a portion of his profits from the show to charity.
Following the outcome of the recent court hearing, Kodak Black’s lawyer, Bradford Cohen, took to Instagram to clear the air on a controversial news report. Cohen posted a photo of himself and Kodak leaving the courthouse, accompanied by a caption that denied the Local 10 News’ reporting that Kodak had refused to give a hair sample in court.
“Of course channel 10 got it wrong. “No one refused a Hair sample. Pretrial does not provide Hair sample services. But I am glad @kodakblack will get an opportunity to take a break from his hectic schedule and focus on his physical health. Great kid, great philanthropist and as usual a portion of his Rolling Loud pay check will go to the Meadow Pollack scholarship fund at Nova Southeastern Law School, that he set up last year. @local10news You often see news reports that aren’t accurate because they want those subscribers, and won’t report on the good in the community and the good Kodak does there as well. Doesn’t make for a good story,” his caption read
Kodak Black, the controversial rapper, is currently out on bond following his arrest last July on felony drug charges. Law enforcement officials reportedly discovered 30 Oxycodone pills and approximately $75,000 in cash in his car during a traffic stop.
It’s good to see that the judge gave Kodak the chance to clean himself up instead of locking him up. However, it remains to be seen if this will have a positive impact on the rapper. Until then, stay tuned to Thirsty For News.
