Shakira Slams Gerard Piqué’s Girlfriend Over Cheating Scandal

Shakira and Gerard Piqué, a longtime couple, called it a quit last year due to their differences. With that being said, Shakira recently publicly slammed her former partner, Gerard Piqué, for his infidelity and his new romantic interest.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer appeared in an interview with Enrique Acevedo of Canal Estrellas on Monday where she claimed that she initially believed “the story that a woman needed a man to be complete” before realizing she can be wholly “self-sufficient.” “There is a place in hell reserved for women who don’t support other women,” Shakira told.

“I’ve always been emotionally quite dependent on men I’ve fallen in love with love and I think I’ve been able to understand that story from another perspective, and today I am sufficient on my own.”

The renowned singer expressed that she has “come out stronger” after facing “life’s battles,” following reports of her former soccer player partner allegedly engaging in infidelity with his current girlfriend, Clara Chia Marti, who is 23 years old. The couple, however, recently made their relationship official on Instagram.

“When a woman has to face life’s battles, she comes out stronger.”

The Grammy winner said her main priority is being a “lioness” for their two sons, Milan and Sasha. “That strength comes out of experiencing a painful loss, of accepting it, of tolerating a frustration, of understanding that life doesn’t always bring us what we want,” she explained. 

“There are dreams that are broken, and you have to pick up the little pieces from the ground and put yourself together again and also be an example to my children.”
