DaBaby is the personification of rap music’s controversies and he keeps getting entangled in controversies. With that being said, DaBaby has recently found himself in hot water as he is currently being sued for allegedly assaulting a person over the 2019 Christmas season.
Cristofher Pocasangren is suing the rapper for allegedly assaulting him. According to the statement of damages that The Blast obtained, he is now liable for more than $2 million for causing mental anguish and other charges following their altercation in December 2019 in addition to the assault charge.
The plaintiff alleges that the incident occurred at a Marriott Hotel where he was employed. He requested a photo from the rapper, but he apparently didn’t like that and refused. Despite being in the rapper’s space, the plaintiff still made the decision to take a picture.
When DaBaby asked him to delete the picture, Pocasangren complied, but the rapper later claimed that he wasn’t over the incident and had tried to follow him into the hotel and assaulted the hotel employee there.
The hotel’s video surveillance captured the entirety of this incident. At the time, the rapper asserted that he was actually attacked by the hotel employee before he was able to defend himself. The video evidence, however, clearly showed otherwise.
Besides that, the rapper is currently defending himself in court against Gary Pager, another man who has charged him with assault. The incident from 2021 allegedly occurred in North Carolina as a result of the man trying to enforce “basic rental rules” in a house he was renting to DaBaby.
