John Cena is a former professional wrestler turned actor who has successfully made the transition from the ring to the big screen. He has starred in a number of popular films, including Trainwreck, Bumblebee, and F9: The Fast Saga, and has been praised for his versatility and range as an actor.
Despite making a return to the ring late last year as well as this year, Cena still has a couple of interesting projects lined up. As revealed by Seth Rogen via Deadline, the former WWE Champion is now set to voice the role of Rocksteady in the upcoming “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem” movie.
The movie will feature Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, Brady Noon who will voice the four ninja turtles Donatello, Michelangelo, Leonardo, and Raphael respectively. The voice cast also features Hannibal Buress as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne as Leatherhead, Jackie Chan as Splinter, Ice Cube as Superfly, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko and Maya Rudolph.
The movie will be produced by Nickelodeon Movies, Paramount Pictures, and Point Grey Productions. A teaser for the film is expected to be released soon.
The role of Rocksteady was previously voiced by Sheamus in 2016 when he voiced the character in the 2016 film “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.”
