Jon Jones’ title as the GOAT is well-deserved, despite his controversial personal life. Jones did the impossible and won the Heavyweight title at UFC 285. After his win, he issued a huge warning to Stipe Miocic.
The fight between Gane and Jones began with an accidental groin kick from Gane, causing a brief pause in the action. Once the fight resumed, Jones retaliated with a strong right hand, driving Gane against the cage and applying pressure.
Jones took advantage of an opening when Gane missed a punch, and within a minute of the fight, executed a takedown. Although Gane stood up, Jones quickly brought him back down and attempted to apply a guillotine choke.
With a firm grip, Jones tightened the choke and forced Gane to submit, securing an impressive victory and claiming the heavyweight championship title.
After the fight, UFC president Dana White announced that Jones will defend his title against Stipe Miocic. Unsurprisingly, Jones himself seemed confident and determined to take on the challenge.
Despite his success in the fight against Gane, Jones acknowledged that there are still skeptics and vowed to prove them wrong in his upcoming fight with Miocic. He expressed his belief in his own abilities and promised to bring his absolute best to the ring, emphasizing his dedication to becoming the heavyweight GOAT.
Jones sent a warning to Miocic, stating that he would take time off from being a firefighter and give everything he has to defeat him. He dismissed Miocic’s emphasis on weightlifting and promised to finish him before the championship rounds, leaving no doubt about his intent to dominate the division.
“I believe in my next fight, I’ll go into it with a different level of confidence, an even higher level of confidence. I believe that I’m going to look really great. I’m going to have even higher endurance than I had today, which is going to be hard to beat, because I’m in really great condition. … The next fight is going to be awesome.
I say it respectfully to Stipe: I would take time off from being a firefighter right now. I mean that with all due respect. My whole world is going to be focused on him. This is the biggest opportunity in my life, to be the heavyweight GOAT, and I’m going to give it everything I’ve got – absolutely everything I’ve got. Stipe is talking about how he’s heavier than me right now. His head is already in the wrong spot if he thinks weightlifting is going to beat me. He’ll never be younger than he is right now. He’ll never be faster. I’m going to not only beat Stipe Miocic, I’m going to finish Stipe Miocic before the championship rounds.”
In conclusion, Jon Jones’ victory over Ciryl Gane proved his undeniable talent as a fighter and cemented his position as one of the best in the sport. Despite his controversial personal life, his performance inside the Octagon speaks for itself. With his sights now set on Stipe Miocic, Jones is determined to continue his reign as the GOAT of the heavyweight division.
