Snoop Dogg, the legendary rapper from California, shocked a crowd of 20,000 during his “I Wanna Thank Me” tour in Australia on this past Thursday. The concert featured pole dancers performing to his classic hits, including “Gin and Juice” and “What’s My Name?” Snoop even brought out an ape-mask-wearing performer who threw money on stage, adding to the debauchery and campiness of the show.
While some accused Snoop of groping one of his backup dancers during his Perth show on Monday, it seems like it was just people concerned with how he touched them while on stage, with no further wrongdoing reported. Another dancer spoke highly of Snoop’s energy and attitude, saying, “He’s the coolest person, super laid back and he just wants to entertain the people like we all do.”
Snoop also hung out with Ed Sheeran and Russell Crowe backstage at his Melbourne show on Saturday night. While some pointed out jars and rolled cigarettes among them, the trio seemed to be having a chill celebration. Snoop even gifted both celebrities with a Death Row chain to commemorate the occasion.
In addition to his tour, Snoop Dogg will also make a return to TV with his longtime friend and collaborator Dr. Dre. DJ Pooh confirmed a reboot of their film The Wash as a TV series, which should be a fun, nostalgic revisiting for fans of the star-studded 2001 film for hip-hop.
Overall, while Snoop’s Australian concert may have been shocking to some, the crowd overall loved his performance, screaming and singing along. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from Snoop Dogg and his upcoming projects.
