UFC 285: New UFC Flyweight Champion Crowned As Alexa Grasso Beats Valentina Shevchenko

Tonight’s UFC 285 event was co-headlined by a women’s flyweight title fight featuring Valentina Shevchenko taking on Alexa Grasso. Needless to say, there was a world of hype surrounding the fight.

In the third round, Grasso comes out aggressively, pressuring Shevchenko with jabs, body kicks and strikes in the pocket. Shevchenko partially connects with a high kick, but the tide turns as she scores a takedown and Grasso starts landing more strikes from the bottom.

In the fourth round, both fighters exchange punches, with Shevchenko unsuccessfully shooting for a takedown. Grasso pushes Shevchenko up against the cage, landing short punches, and takes her back to lock in a rear-naked choke for the win, becoming the new champion.
