After much anticipation, fans of the popular Netflix series “Stranger Things” have received some exciting news about the show’s upcoming fifth and final season, giving them a glimpse into what to expect in the highly anticipated conclusion to the show.
David Harbour revealed that filming is set to begin in June of this year. Harbour made the announcement during the 2023 Middle East Film & Comic Con in Abu Dhabi, giving viewers a glimpse of what’s to come in the popular Netflix series
The makers of “Stranger Things” Matt and Ross Duffer have stated that the final season will focus on the existing cast and will not introduce any major new characters. The brothers are aware of the limited screen time available to wrap up the story and are cautious about introducing new characters, wanting to ensure that they are integral to the narrative.
“We’re doing our best to resist [adding new characters] for Season 5,” Matt said. “We’re trying not to do that so we can focus on the OG characters, I guess.”
While the filmmakers are keeping their plans top secret for now, the season four finale looks towards a final season that promises more chaos, drama, and monsters than ever before. Fans can expect plenty of excitement in the world of “Stranger Things” as the show prepares for its highly anticipated final season.
“Whenever we introduce a new character, we want to make sure that they’re going to be an integral part of the narrative. . . . But every time we do that, we’re nervous because you go, ‘We’ve got a great cast of characters here, and actors, and any moment we’re spending with a new character, we’re taking time away from one of the other actors.’ So we’re just very, very careful about who we’re introducing.”
