50 Cent might be one of the most ruthless people to deal with in court. When he wants his money, he wants it immediately and there’s no stopping him from getting it. His ex-employee, specifically, could end up losing assets after they were found guilty of embezzling millions of dollars from the rapper’s alcohol brand, Sire Spirits. Mitchell Green, the ex-Brand Management Director at Sire Spirits, lost his battle in court. Now, he might have to deal with Fofty if he doesn’t pay up in time.
The rapper shared HipHopDX’s article with the headline, “50 Cent Ready To Seize Ex-Employee’s Property Over $6M Lawsuit.” Fif wasted little time before commenting on the matter on Instagram and putting a deadline on his rewarded judgment. “Look I’m a need that by Monday!” 50 Cent captioned the post, though we’ve yet to hear from Green on whether he’ll abide by Fif’s tight deadline. Still, it’s a major loss for Green.
Last year, Fif filed a lawsuit against a former Sire Spirits employee who allegedly pocketed millions of bucks from the company. Sire Spirits own Branson Cognac and Le Chemin Du Roi which go for $200 and $150, respectively. However, Green faced accusations of inflating the prices and then, pocketing $2.2M in kickbacks – described as “agency fees” in court documents – from wholesalers. The scheme didn’t play out for long after the company caught him.
Mitchell eventually copped to the crimes “after two years of embezzling from Sire Spirits.” Apparently, he was being extorted by someone who threatened to reveal what he’s been up to behind the company’s back. Sire Spirits subsequently fired him and took arbitration proceedings. Eventually, it was determined that he owed the money that he took, as well as $948,096 paid to a wholesaler. Additionally, he had to pay $2.7 million in attorney fees and damages, which brings the total up to $6.2M. While the decision was actually made last June, it seems like 50 Cent isn’t willing to wait any longer for his money.
What do you think about 50 Cent’s legal battle to seize his ex-employee’s assets over a $6M embezzlement lawsuit? Do you think it’s fair for 50 Cent to take such drastic measures to recover his money, or do you think there should be a more lenient approach? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
