Gigi Hadid has completely established herself as a model of the moment with a huge social media following (76.7 million Instagram followers and counting) and has become a fan favorite for campaigns, editorials, and covers. Tyler Cameron had a brief two-month romance with the supermodel in 2019 soon after his stint on the popular ABC dating show. ‘The Bachelorette’ castoff recently admitted that when he was dating Gigi Hadid he had only $200.
Cameron revealed his financial difficulties in an episode of fellow Bachelor Nation alum Jason Tatrick’s show “Trading Secrets” on Monday. “He goes to me, ‘Dude, I don’t know what the f–k I’m doing. I got $5,000 in my bank account, I don’t know what my next job is, and I’m dating Gigi Hadid,’” Tatrick said. “Not even $5,000, I had like $200, you know what I mean?” Cameron corrected him.
“I’d be going on dates — like this is in my early days of living in New York City. I’m living on Matt’s beanbag,” he said, referring to fellow Bachelor Nation alum Matt James.“Have no money, but I’m like the happiest I’ve ever been ’cause like the world is wide open to me in New York City. I can do whatever I want,” he added. Cameron recalled calling his father from the bathroom to beg for money to pay for his date.
Cameron detailed how he called his father from the bathroom and asked for money. He stated that he was there crossing his fingers that his credit card would be accepted, and he also revealed that he had no clue what a credit card was.
“I’d be going on dates, I’m like calling pops up in the bathroom. I’m like, ‘Pops, I don’t think my credit card’s gonna go through. I need you to send me some money right now.’ And he’s like, ‘You got it, son, go get it,’” Cameron remembered. “When you go on a date with Gigi, and you only have $200 to your name, how do you pay for it? Do you ever have a story, like how are you managing that?” Tatrick asked. “You’re just crossing your fingers at this point,” Cameron explained. “At this point, I don’t even know what a credit card is.”
“I got a straight debit card, so when you reach zero, you know, so I’m just crossing my fingers and hoping it swipes, and it just kept swiping,” he further explained. While Cameron was a contestant on Hannah Brown’s season of “The Bachelorette” in July 2019, Hadid made the first move by following him on Instagram. Cameron came second on the ABC dating show but after Brown broke off her engagement to winner Jed Wyatt Gigi asked Cameron out for drinks.
Cameron was romantically linked to Camila Kendra and model Paige Lorenze after his brief relationship with Hadid ended. Cameron and Lorenze split up in August, just three weeks after making their relationship public. Keep an eye on Thirsty for the most latest updates.
