A$AP Rocky might be on a high to welcome his second child, however, his future is filled with uncertainty. The court has called for Rocky to come to a conclusion about whether or not his case will go to trial.
The rapper has been summoned to court for his alleged assault charges towards A$AP Relli. He was not present Tuesday at a Downtown Los Angeles criminal court for a hearing regarding the case but he can’t evade it anymore. This time Judge Kerry White scheduled a preliminary hearing to be held on June 5.
Rocky was arrested in April last year at LAX airport as he stepped off a private plane from Barbados. He had been on vacation with the multiple Grammy-winning singer Rihanna. Cops held him for a few hours on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, then released him on $550,000 bail.
The LA District Attorney’s office was given the case to prosecute. The charges were deemed serious enough by LA DA George Gascon in August to pursue felony status. That would have been a more serious offense given a misdemeanor that only carries a potential jail sentence of one year for each count.
Mayers is also subject to a protective order demanding. It mentions that he has to stay at least 100 yards away from Ephron and doesn’t contact him on any grounds.
Rocky and RiRi are currently expecting baby No. 2 but this case can suck out the happiness of the moment at any time. Meyers can face up to four years in prison on each count if convicted. Stay tuned to Thirsty to know how A$AP Rocky’s conclusion to the trial unfolds.
