The WWE 2023 Hall Of Fame ceremony is most certainly a highly anticipated event, as the company will honor names that have been significant to the business in many ways. Now it seems WWE could be inducting a surprising first-time ever into the Hall Of Fame.
As previously reported, WWE will be inducting Andy Kaufman into the Hall of fame this year. To date, a WWE referee has never been inducted into the Hall Of Fame, despite the fact that fans, wrestlers, and referees themselves pushing for the same to finally happen.
According to PWInsider Elite, there has been talk that a referee will finally be receiving the honor during this year’s WWE Hall Of Fame. While the name of the potential inductee was not disclosed, it was added that they are widely beloved in the business.
The inclusion of a referee is certainly a no-brainer, considering just how crucial referees have been in matches as well as many iconic storylines in WWE. They are also often highly respected individuals who are important in ensuring the safety of talent.
People who were not professional wrestlers have been inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame over the years, including commentators to ring announcers and celebrities. Therefore, we’ll have to wait and see which referee will be receiving the honor as the first-ever referee to be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.
