Amanda Bynes’ Parents Will Not Put Her Into Conservatorship Again Despite Psychotic Episode

Amanda Bynes made a name for herself as a child actress in various Nickelodeon shows. While she tries to stay out of the limelight now, sometimes it can be unavoidable for her. Bynes’ family will also not put her into a conservatorship again despite a recent psychotic episode.

The 36-year-old actress has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and manic depression and was previously placed under conservatorship for nine years since 2013. As previously reported, Bynes had a psychotic episode recently and was hospitalized for the same.

According to TMZ, while her parents Lynn and Rick, are worried about their daughter, they are not considering putting her into another conservatorship at the moment.

Amanda had been living independently in her own house and was taking cosmetology classes, suggesting that she was doing well until the recent episode. Her parents are relieved that Amanda was self-aware enough to recognize that she was in trouble and called 911 for help.

As reported by TMZ, Amanda was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold after being spotted walking naked near Downtown L.A. on a Sunday morning. A mental health team determined that a psych hold was necessary, which typically lasts for only 72 hours but can be extended if necessary.

Amanda had previously been under a conservatorship for almost a decade, starting back in 2013, while she struggled with her mental health. Her conservatorship ended a year ago, and her recent episode has raised concerns about her ability to take care of herself. While her parents are not currently considering another conservatorship, they are keeping a close eye on their daughter and hoping for the best.
